The Global Workshop Program: Managing Risk, Crisis, and Contingency While Building Cyber Resilience & Operational Continuity at AEROMEXICO has been designed to empower AEROMEXICO’s leadership with the tools, frameworks, and practical experience needed to navigate these challenges.

This four-day, executive-level program brings together international experts in risk management, crisis leadership, performance compliance, and medicine, industrial regulatory cybersecurity provide actionable AEROMEXICO’s strategies decision-makers to with tailored to the company’s global operations. Through a combination of keynote lectures, case studies, interactive simulations, and executive exercises, participants will:

Strengthen their understanding of enterprise risk and crisis management frameworks used by leading global corporations. Experience real-time simulation exercises, including a ransomware attack scenario targeting critical airport infrastructure, to test decision-making under pressure. Develop practical insights into contingency planning, recovery strategies, and communication under crisis. Gain clarity on regulatory requirements, including FAA regulations, Presidential Executive Orders on critical infrastructure protection, and compliance obligations linked to national security, recognizing that airports, air traffic control systems, and airlines are formally part of critical infrastructure protection frameworks. Understand the critical role of Performance Medicine for executives and decision-makers — sustaining cognitive performance, stress resilience, and high-level decision-making capacity during high-pressure operational crises

Co-create an AEROMÉXICO Resilience Playbook that aligns international best practices — including NIST, MIT, and Boston University methodologies — with U.S. regulatory requirements such as FAA regulations, Presidential Executive Orders on critical infrastructure protection, CISA/NIST cybersecurity frameworks, and SEC cyber risk disclosure rules.

All frameworks will be adapted to AEROMÉXICO’s global operational and strategic realities, strengthening its ability to anticipate, respond to, and recover from cyber, operational, or infrastructure incidents that may impact the safety, continuity, and trust of its international operations network.

By the end of the program, AEROMÉXICO executives will have strengthened both their strategic leadership capabilities and their personal resilience, ensuring the company remains strong, agile, and compliant during any operational or cyber-related crisis. The program emphasizes leadership under pressure, the integration of cyber resilience into enterprise risk governance, and the ability to maintain operational continuity across global markets within stringent regulatory environments. Prof. Israel Reyes

MIT Invited Lecturer in OT / ICS Cybersecurity

Israel Reyes is a global authority in cybersecurity, operational technology (OT), and organizational resilience. With over two decades of experience, he has led strategic responses to some of the most critical cyber incidents affecting Fortune 500 companies, critical infrastructure, and government agencies across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

He serves as Guest Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and at George Washington University, where he contributes to executive education and master’s degree programs on crisis management, leadership in complex environments, and the protection of strategic assets. His thought leadership is frequently featured in international media, including El Economista, UNIVISION, CNN, and Forbes. In 2022, he was the principal subject matter expert in National Geographic’s documentary DARKWEB, highlighting the hidden dangers of cybercrime on a global scale.

Mr. Reyes applies actuarial mathematics, economics, and forecasting modeling to quantify risk exposure, helping organizations anticipate and withstand disruptive events. He is currently authoring the book Actuarial Mathematics for Operational Technology Contingency Risk, a pioneering work that bridges quantitative science and resilience strategy for critical industries. He holds academic credentials from Harvard University, Stanford University, and the University of Colorado, with advanced training in corporate governance, strategic finance, and digital transformation

Dr. Steven B. Goldman

MIT Crisis Management & Business Continuity Expert, Professor at MIT and Harvard University

Dr. Steven B. Goldman is an internationally recognized expert in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Communications, with over three decades of global experience advising corporations, governments, and non-profits. His diverse background spans engineering, corporate communications, and crisis leadership, including serving as Global Business Continuity Program Manager for a Fortune 500 company.

He has developed and enhanced continuity and disaster recovery strategies for leading organizations worldwide, trained executives and response teams, and directed exercises ranging from high-level table-tops to full-scale simulations with multiple agencies. Widely published, Dr. Goldman delivers seminars and workshops annually on resilience, risk communication, and crisis leadership. In academia, he lectures at Harvard University on risk communication and crisis planning, and he has designed specialized training for global forums such as the Disaster Recovery Journal and the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).

Dr. Goldman earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Massachusetts, focusing on leadership and crisis planning, and holds a Master’s in Nuclear Engineering from MIT. He continues to consult globally, helping organizations strengthen resilience in an era of growing uncertainty.

Dr. Ekaterina Kostioukhina

MD, Specialist in Internal & Performance Medicine, Guest Lecturer at MIT and Harvard University

A physician and researcher specializing in Internal Medicine, Space Medicine, and Performance Medicine, Dr. Ekaterina Kostioukhina earned her medical degree from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and pursued advanced studies at Harvard University. Her work focuses on optimizing health and resilience in extreme environments, as well as supporting senior executives, military personnel, and government officials operating under high-stress conditions to achieve peak performance.

Board-certified in Obesity Medicine, Dr. Kostioukhina brings expertise in metabolism as the founder of HIBERIA, a research initiative advancing the science of hypometabolic states to enable space travel and to develop life-saving metabolic strategies for critical situations and remote environments on Earth.

She has taught at both MIT and Harvard, sharing her knowledge on human performance, resilience, and medical innovation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her work was featured in MIT Science Review, Forbes, and The Crisis Response Journal, highlighting her contributions to advancing medical science during a time of global crisis. She continues to bridge cutting-edge research with practical application, equipping leaders and explorers alike to thrive under pressure.

Daniel Serna

Professor at Boston University & MIT

Daniel Serna is a seasoned lawyer with a distinguished career in Immigration and Corporate Law, advising multinational corporations on the complex intersection of regulatory compliance, labor frameworks, and cross-border operations. With more than a decade of experience, he has guided companies in manufacturing, technology, and finance through high-stakes legal challenges, ensuring alignment with evolving immigration policies and corporate governance standards.

Daniel’s expertise lies in identifying and mitigating hidden legal risks that often emerge at the crossroads of law and geopolitics. He has successfully represented Fortune 500 companies and global investors, helping them not only resolve compliance issues but also strengthen their strategic positioning in foreign markets. His work emphasizes proactive engagement with regulators, sound risk management, and the integration of legal compliance into broader corporate resilience strategies.

Recognized as a thought leader in his field, Daniel contributes insights on the transformative role of legal frameworks in shaping corporate reputation and long-term value creation. Dr. Mark Carroll

Professor at Boston University & MIT

Mark Carroll is an accomplished risk, crisis, and recovery professional with over 25 years of experience in business continuity, crisis management, and disaster recovery. He has built and led resilience programs for some of the world’s leading organizations, including launching Biogen’s first continuity and recovery programs, expanding Gillette’s global program to 150 locations, and directing business continuity for Fidelity Enterprise Operations. He also introduced enterprise risk and recovery management at Income Research and Management.

Mark began his career in IT with the U.S. Department of Defense in Boston, overseeing contractor compliance and application support. He later developed Gillette’s IT Audit program and integrated technology controls into operational risk management. His leadership extended to senior IT roles at Rexam Graphics and JPS Elastomerics. An academic leader, Mark founded the Enterprise Risk Management graduate program at Boston University, where he continues to teach, having instructed more than 3,500 graduate students worldwide. A sought-after speaker, he has presented at ISACA, Continuity Insights, MIT, DHS, ACP, and DRJ.

Mark holds an MBA from Babson College, bachelor’s degrees from Boston College, and multiple professional designations, including RIMS-CRMP, MBCP, PMP, and CISSP
